How We Can Help
You
Religious Education
- We welcome visits from school groups to the church building,
which provides opportunities to explore a traditional church
building, a rich source for discussion of issues about the
Christian faith.
- We welcome the opportunity to visit schools to give input
into appropriate parts of the curriculum.
Other Subjects
(eg History, Art & Architecture, Social
Sciences)
- There has been a church of St. Michael on the present
site for almost 1000 years and the current building is around
500 years old with many of the intervening periods being
represented in the building, with memorials and other artefacts
illustrating historical patterns and events in our local area.
Much of what is now visible of the church and of neighbouring
Church Cottage dates from the
Tudor period.

Historic Venue for School Events
As the parish church, St. Michael's has established links,
over several generations in some cases, with many families in the
area, through baptisms, weddings and funerals, as well as regular
Sunday and weekday worship, and
uniformed
organisations (Guides, Brownies, Rainbows, Scouts, Cubs,
Beavers).
The building is available for local schools to use for special
events, such as carol services, harvest festivals and school
concerts.
