| The Missions Committee is a small group of regular members
who encourage the church's support for missionary work both at
home and overseas by raising both funds and awareness. |
 |
The Committee is charged with making recommendations to the church
council for recipients of the church's outward giving. |
 |
In addition, members of the Missions
Committee organise social and other events to bolster the amount
which comes from the regular giving of the church. Such events have
included a harvest supper and quiz night in aid of the Bowen-Jones'
work in Natal, a coffee morning in aid of the St. James Mission
School in Zimbabwe, a Lent lunch in aid of reconciliation and
redevelopment work in Rwanda. The Committee also takes
responsibility for the distribution of Lent collecting boxes.
